Nature Therapy

In our society we have become increasingly disconnected from the earth on which we live. In a study on pollutants, it was determined that the average American spends 93% of their time in either enclosed buildings or vehicles. And we have largely turned away from each other and towards technology, absorbed in phones, entertainment, video games, and social media. We are starting to see the negative effects of this change in our mental health.

Nature Therapy, sometimes called Ecotherapy, Forest Therapy, Grounding, or Shinrin-Yoku is a practice that involves and encourages using nature to improve our physical, mental and emotional health. And there is no better place to do this than on the lawns, paths and beaches of the Alaska Luxury Adventures properties, taking in the soothing blue oceans of Kachemak Bay. Studies show that people simply feel better near water.

CLASSES

Wellness is, of course, not all about pampering the body. It's also about awakening the mind, the senses, the spirit.

Your All-Inclusive Program can include the art, cooking, nature, or heritage class of your choice.

  NATURAL HEALING

Human beings have evolved in nature, and whether we are aware of it or not, we have a deeply spiritual connection to the earth.

Allow the raw nature, the snowcapped mountains, lush green trees and the soothing blue oceans of Alaska Luxury Adventures properties to ground you, and bring peace.

Surround Yourself in Nature

One of the wonderfully beautiful and unique things about this place in Alaska is that you can, within minutes, walk the sandy beaches and take in the splash, majesty, and movement of the mighty ocean, wander forest paths surrounded by rich green trees and the vibrant colors of Alaska's wildflowers, or hike the stark mountain trails, looking down from lofty grandeur.

Connection with the earth and its systems is at the core of Nature Therapy. For most of human history, we have coexisted with the Earth, with many of our ancestors believing there was no separation between themselves and the natural world that surrounded them. Putting our feet on the earth, feeling grounded to it, bathing in the sights, sounds, and energy of the natural world, have a documented positive impact on physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Spending time in nature has been linked to immune system recovery, a decrease in anxiety and depression, and increased cognition.

EXPERIENCE CUSTOM PROGRAMS

Shinrin-Yoku

In some cultures, like Japan, it is widely accepted that prioritizing time in nature is part of everyday life. They call it Shinrin-yoku or Forest Bathing. Not coincidentally, Japan also has one of the highest life expectancies in the world.

Just being immersed in the beauty of Alaska, inside the properties, walking the properties, basking in the glorious beauty of sitting on the decks and walking the beaches will benefit you in ways beyond your imagination, but you can also choose to have your group participate in a custom Nature Therapy program designed by our wellness experts during your stay with Alaska Luxury Adventures.
